The Da Vinci code book review: (by Dan Brown)
Hey y'all, hope you all are doing fine! This blog is about my thoughts on the book "The Da Vinci Code", (by Dan Brown) without any spoilers. This review is solely based on my personal perspective.
The novel "the Da Vinci Code" is a crime thriller/historical book. It was very absorbing, riveting and hands down the most gripping book I've ever read. The more I read, the more I wanted to read, It is a fast-paced novel with an unusually high IQ. Dan Brown is one of the most passionate writers known to me.
All descriptions of artwork, architecture, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.
The story plot:
It revolves around a Harvard professor, Robert Langdon, who is the protagonist of this book, and an ingenious cryptologist Sophie Nevue. Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night call. The curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered in his own museum in a bizarre way. With this at the account, Robert Langdon and Sophie Nevue are set to crack the baffling codes left by the curator which leads them to know more about the Priory of Sion, a secret society that was founded in France, and Leonardo Da Vinci, deep into the vault of history, unless Langdon and Nevue decipher the twisting codes, a staggering historical truth would be lost forever. This truth is so powerful that the mere existence of the members of the Priory of Sion is to protect it. Opus Dei, a devout catholic organization has been the topic of controversy due to reports of brainwashing, coercion, and a dangerous practice known as "corporal mortification", They try to seek the historical truth before Langdon and Nevue do. Who will get to know the ultimate truth?
My thoughts on this book:
This is one of the books I knew I will like after reading the first line. It is a must-read. It really enlightened me, and I got to know more about the history of Christianity and its origin. The words were impeccable although a little complex. This is one of the books which got me into reading, and I will forever love this. On the contrary, I found it a little bit draggy. Although this book was controversial and offended many people, I didn't find it offensive. The truth is what it is and the people need to know. It is one heck of a stimulating plot, which made me binge-read it. To be honest, I got into a reading slump after completing this book, none of the other books were invigorating like this to me. This is one of the books, I would sell my soul out to read for the first time.
Climax: The climax blew my mind when I finished the novel. Absolutely mind-boggling. I didn't expect the ending at all, I couldn't process the conclusion as it was so unthinkable.
Overall this novel has one of the finest mysteries which was absolutely dramatic and action-packed which deserves a space on everyone's bookshelf.
